Rob Murphy

Rob Murphy serves as Capsida’s Chief Manufacturing and Quality Officer. He is a seasoned biotech executive with more than 30 years of experience successfully leading operations functions through pre-clinical, clinical, and commercial milestones. He has led cGMP manufacturing, quality assurance and quality control, supply chain, and process development functions. Mr. Murphy joined Capsida in 2020 as Vice President of Technical Operations where he and his team successfully designed, built, and staffed a new state-of-the-art gene therapy manufacturing facility.

Prior to joining Capsida, Mr. Murphy was Vice President of Supply Chain/Clinical Operations at PTSI Consulting where he worked with a leading allogenic cell therapy company to set up a clinical supply chain in the U.S. and Europe. Prior to PTSI, Mr. Murphy spent 28 years in roles of increasing responsibility at Amgen. Highlights from his tenure at Amgen include leading global clinical supply chain management, where he and his team performed forecasting, production planning, clinical labeling, and distribution for Amgen’s clinical programs around the world; leading the Thousand Oaks clinical fill facility; operations therapeutic area leadership of the bone and general medicine franchises; strategic operations team leadership of Amgen’s first successful drug EPOGEN®; and launch team leader of Amgen’s first small molecule product SENSIPAR®.

Mr. Murphy has a B.S. degree in biochemistry from the University of Missouri.
